Breathe.Move. Draw.

Join us along with MK Art Therapy for this wonderful social prescribing initiative….

Bodymind Integration: connecting through therapeutic art making, movement, and breath work.

In this workshop we bring together art making, movement through the MELT method, and breath work to create a peaceful space for participants to engage in therapeutic introspection. We will be following a path beginning with meditation followed by art making, mindful movement, more art making and meditation, concluding with group reflection. Our aim is to guide participants towards a better understanding of how thoughts and emotions are held in the body, how the body and mind are integrally connected, and how to attend to those feelings through mindful movement and reflective creation.

BREATHWORK & MELT Workshop

Fri May 26, 6:30- 8:30 pm, with Shannon Frame & Annabel Scott

$75 plus tax

What is breathwork?
This transformational breathing meditation, which is an active 3 part breathing meditation, allows your body to be flushed with oxygen. It gives you the ability to quiet the thinking mind and move into the body.   It enables you to potentially move into an aled state of mind where you can clear stuck energy (emotional, physical, mental and spiritual), calm your nervous system by reducing stress and anxiety, improve clarity and focus, release toxins, boost immunity, and start letting go of what you may be holding on to, creating space for personal transformation and growth.

Benefits of Breathwork:

  • Reset the nervous system
  • Assistance to help you release and let go (stuck energy holding you back)
  • Reduced stress and anxiety (from the source – not on the surface level)
  • Increased connection with your intuition and heart
  • Stronger sense of purpose and self-worth
  • Increased energy and motivation
  • More focus and clarity = more efficient and productive
  • Increased sense of feeling calm, grounded and at peace
  • Improved sleep
  • Stronger immunity by releasing toxins
  • More happiness and joy- so you can show up for yourself and others in your life

  • About Shannon Frame (from The Collective Alchemy in Whistler, B.C)

Her goal is to help you live a calmer, more peaceful life, have more focus and energy, better sleep and have more productivity. Her hope is that this will allow you to live a life aligned with your purpose, and give you the ability to show up for the things that matter most in your life. She believes in holding a safe space for those looking to go deeper under the surface to release, let go, create space and seek answers from within. Pilates & You

Looking for safe and natural solutions to stay fit and healthy well into your 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond? Think Pilates! Pilates is the perfect individual or group activity. After taking a 10 week course, we can customize your own program, and you may find yourself wanting to engage in additional practices with greater diversity, depth, and challenge, such as yoga or go to a gym. We have in-person group classes, and online classes, and private personal training as well.

Pilates is a 100 year old practice that you can use to ease pain, lower blood pressure, boost immunity, reduce anxiety, and protect against the stresses of life.

We can show you the simple steps to start your Pilates practice and reap its incredible health benefits from improved strength, balance, and mobility, to lower stress, better sleep, and sharper focus and memory.

It’s no surprise that 25% of office-based physicians are prescribing Reformer Pilates to their patients. That’s welcome news because recent studies show this mind-body practice can ease arthritis pain, lower high blood pressure, boost immunity, and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Chair Pilates is a perfect place to start if you have balance issues or difficulty getting down on the floor. We have special raised mats. It’s also a good supplementary practice for anyone who is stuck sitting for long periods of time at work, in a car, or on a plane. Even practicing a few of the moves will help to get your blood flowing and stretch your muscles so you feel better.

Standing Pilates can help you get stronger, balance better, and become more flexible. Practice it solo for a quick session, or combine it with the floor routine for a longer Pilates workout.

Floor Pilates exercises will really stretch you out, improving flexibility and helping you to relax. You’ll also get nervous system and muscle-strengthening benefits, by re-patterning faulty stability and alignment habits.

Reformer and any apparatus Pilates (Cadillac and Stability Chair) support the limbs so you can focus only on your core and never use your back or neck again… so you stay pain-free.

Pilates will fight aging, boost your health and vitality, and keep you looking and feeling years younger!
