Breathe.Move. Draw.

Join us along with MK Art Therapy for this wonderful social prescribing initiative….

Bodymind Integration: connecting through therapeutic art making, movement, and breath work.

In this workshop we bring together art making, movement through the MELT method, and breath work to create a peaceful space for participants to engage in therapeutic introspection. We will be following a path beginning with meditation followed by art making, mindful movement, more art making and meditation, concluding with group reflection. Our aim is to guide participants towards a better understanding of how thoughts and emotions are held in the body, how the body and mind are integrally connected, and how to attend to those feelings through mindful movement and reflective creation.

Pilates & You

Looking for safe and natural solutions to stay fit and healthy well into your 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond? Think Pilates! Pilates is the perfect individual or group activity. After taking a 10 week course, we can customize your own program, and you may find yourself wanting to engage in additional practices with greater diversity, depth, and challenge, such as yoga or go to a gym. We have in-person group classes, and online classes, and private personal training as well.

Pilates is a 100 year old practice that you can use to ease pain, lower blood pressure, boost immunity, reduce anxiety, and protect against the stresses of life.

We can show you the simple steps to start your Pilates practice and reap its incredible health benefits from improved strength, balance, and mobility, to lower stress, better sleep, and sharper focus and memory.

It’s no surprise that 25% of office-based physicians are prescribing Reformer Pilates to their patients. That’s welcome news because recent studies show this mind-body practice can ease arthritis pain, lower high blood pressure, boost immunity, and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Chair Pilates is a perfect place to start if you have balance issues or difficulty getting down on the floor. We have special raised mats. It’s also a good supplementary practice for anyone who is stuck sitting for long periods of time at work, in a car, or on a plane. Even practicing a few of the moves will help to get your blood flowing and stretch your muscles so you feel better.

Standing Pilates can help you get stronger, balance better, and become more flexible. Practice it solo for a quick session, or combine it with the floor routine for a longer Pilates workout.

Floor Pilates exercises will really stretch you out, improving flexibility and helping you to relax. You’ll also get nervous system and muscle-strengthening benefits, by re-patterning faulty stability and alignment habits.

Reformer and any apparatus Pilates (Cadillac and Stability Chair) support the limbs so you can focus only on your core and never use your back or neck again… so you stay pain-free.

Pilates will fight aging, boost your health and vitality, and keep you looking and feeling years younger!

So much more than just Foam Rolling

ELDOA CLASSES every Tuesday 5-6 pm Nov 3-24, 2020 @ our Roblin location

ELDOA is a revolutionary stretching and strengthening technique for the spine and joints of the body. These exercises create space between every level of your spine, your hips and shoulders, to alleviate back pain and improve your overall posture.

Created by world-renowned Osteopath, Guy VOYER, DO, who founded the Montreal School of Osteopathy, the ELDOAs were created to target every level of your spine to create space and normalize the tension around each vertebrae. The result is postural normalization and a renewed strength and balance throughout your body.

The Benefits of ELDOA

ELDOA connects your body, mind and spirit through a series of techniques designed to have a calming effect on the nervous system.

When we stretch the fascia that surrounds all the muscles, organs and nerves in our body restrictions are freed and a calm, balanced feeling takes over. You feel revitalized with more energy, and your body feels aligned with a cleansing feeling in your deep body tissue.

You will find that this profound experience is a way of life – and not just an exercise method. Perhaps you’ll see it as meditation for your spine (especially if you can’t sit still). Within the action of an ELDOA you will find stillness – it’s profound and gets into every fibre in your body.

This month, the theme is Hacking into your old Habits. ELDOA is a profound stretching habit that will save you unnecessary pain, aches and discomfort so you enjoy your movement and performance, be it sitting at a desk, yoga or skiiing. An ELDOA stretching routine reduces the negative effects of the postural bad habits we do to our bodies.

All welcome. No previous experience necessary. All participants physically distanced. 4 week program starts Tues Nov 3 to Nov 24, 5-6 pm at our Roblin location inside The Yoga Barre. Sign up online at Pilates Manitoba or The Yoga Barre or text 204.999.9984
